Nine hurt in A65 minibus crash

Nine people have been injured after a car and a minibus crashed on the A65 at Gatebeck.

Emergency services were called at approx 11:33pm yesterday, Saturday 15 April.

The collision involved a white Seat car and a silver Ford Transit minibus.

A spokesman for Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service said: “A car and a minibus were involved in the collision and crews had to release two casualties, a woman from the car and one man from the minibus.

“Police and ambulance were also at the scene.

“Nine casualties are believed to have been treated by ambulance personnel.”

The A65 was closed for over 8 hours while collision investigators examined the scene.

Any witnesses are asked to call Cumbria Roads Police on 101.
