[W]orkington Town Council and the Workington and District Twinning Association, are hosting an anniversary event on Saturday 27th May from 11am-5.30pm to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Workington twinning with Val de Reuil, France.
The event has been designed with families and community organisations in mind.
Live music will be presented throughout the day on the charming Melodrome stage, along with performances from WADAMS and John Hastings, and our local traders market will have a host of tempting treats from local businesses including Urban Grill, Taste of Mumbai, Magnificent Marshmallows, The Candy Bar, Polar Ice, The Body Shop, MP Speciality Coffee plus more and our charity stalls will be fundraising with tombolas and items for sale.
Vulcan Park will also host a fun fair, street entertainers, storytelling, face painting, crafts for the children and the popular climbing wall.
They will be making the most of our new Panna courts and a coach will be on hand to give guidance in the ultimate test of footballing skill.
The Fairly Famous Family will be bringing their fantastic ‘anyone for tennis’ show to the event and My Superhero will be making dreams come true for the children with an array of popular characters, including PAW Patrol and many more!
Trellis Arts will be keeping the children hooked with their awe-inspiring storytelling and our face painter will be on hand all day to turn little faces into princesses, superheroes or anything else they desire.
For the first time Workington will welcome a theatrical experience called ‘The Lift’. An elegant elevator (on wheels) arrives accompanied by three bellhops. The audience are invited to step inside and choose a moment by selecting one of nine different ‘floor’ buttons. Each button triggers a particular scene or event which is performed for both the audience member in The Lift and those on the outside looking in. Not to be missed!
The event will take place in Vulcan Park on Saturday 27th May 2017 from 11am-5.30pm and is completely FREE!
Party in the Park is proudly sponsored by Amcor.
