Firefighters tackle Wigton blaze

fireenginefront[A]t 6:54pm yesterday, Monday 24 April fire engines and an aerial ladder platform attended a fire in a disused building on Arms Yard, Market Place, Wigton.

A spokesman for Cumbria Fire and rescue Service said: “Firefighters, four in breathing apparatus, used two hose reel jets and a main jet to tackle the blaze.

“The area was thoroughly checked using thermal imaging cameras to make sure there were no hot spots.

“They were at the scene for just over four and a half hours.”
