Firefighters tackle Longtown blaze

fireenginefront[A]t 5:55am today, Friday 28 April firefighters were called to a fire involving 500 tonnes of wood bark at a premises on Woodlands Road, Longtown.

A spokesman for Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service said: “Two fire engines from Longtown and Carlisle East attended and used one hose reel jet to bring the fire under control.

“The crews were on scene for approximately two hours fifty minutes.”
