Vehicle destroyed by fire in Dalston

[A]t 1:58am today, Sunday 30 April one fire engine from Carlisle East attended a vehicle fire on the road from Durdar to Dalston in Dalston, Carlisle.

The fire involved one vehicle which was off the road.

A spokesman for Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service said: “The fire crew used two hose reels and one breathing apparatus to bring the fire under control.

“The vehicle was completely destroyed by the fire.”

At 6:50pm yesterday firefighters were sent to an incident following reports of smoke issuing from wasteland near to Keenan Park by Alexandra Drive in Carlisle.

Firefighters found approximately 60 metres of grass well alight, so they used beaters and a water backpacks to extinguish the fire.

The fire was near to a railway line.
