[T]wo of Cumbria’s finest suppliers were celebrated at Booths annual Supplier Awards this year. The winners, who were selected by the Booths buying and commercial teams, typify Booths’ strong local sourcing ethos and commitment to the highest calibre produce.
The Best Local Supplier award was awarded to Cumbria based Kin Toffee Vodka, which since its launch has become a huge selling line across Booths stores.
Judith Wren of Kin Toffee Vodka said “We were absolutely delighted to win this award. It is great to be recognised in this way – Cumbria is where our heart is, it’s where we are based and we have enjoyed massive support from the area and from Booths. Booths is an organisation we’ve worked with very closely and they have supported us from the beginning. We are thrilled with the credibility which this award gives us.”
Booths’ ground-breaking partnership with Herdwick farmer Ian Knight was also applauded, winning Best Value Initiative for working with the retailer to rear their own Herdwick lamb. This ensures a guaranteed market price for the farmer and supply guarantee for Booths, benefitting both parties.
Commercial Director Nigel Murray said “Booths Supplier Awards are our way to recognise the enormous talent and commitment of our supply partners. We are fortunate to work with many fantastic businesses who help to make Booths as special as it is.”
