[P]olice Scotland has named the man who was killed in a road crash on the A711 road near to Tower Wood on Saturday 29 April 2017 as 47-year-old Michael Andrew Cloy from Kirkton, Dumfries.
Michael Cloy was riding a Triumph Tiger Explorer motorcycle when it was in collision with a silver Ssangyong Turismo car.
Mr Cloy was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash happened at around 1555 hours and the road was closed for a number of hours to allow a full crash scene investigation to take place. The Procurator Fiscal has been informed.
Constable Callum Kingstree of the Roads Policing Unit said: “We continue to carry out investigations into this collision and we would ask that anyone who may have witnessed the collision contacts the Dumfries Road Policing Unit on 101 quoting incident number PDG0097310417.”
