[A]t 2:35pm yesterday, Tuesday 2 May the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to assist North West Ambulance Service with a man, aged in his 70s who was suffering from a heart attack.
A spokesman for GNAAS said: “The aircraft landed at the hospital in Whitehaven where the GNAAS doctor and paramedic team assessed and treated the patient, before he was flown to Carlisle’s Cumberland Infirmary for further treatment.”
His condition was described as serious but stable.
