[A] WOMAN who stabbed her ex-partner in Workington has been sent to prison.
Charlotte Johnston, 21, was originally sentenced for the offence last year.
Carlisle Crown Court heard she lunged at Josh Nicholson at her home and left an eight-inch blade stuck in his arm. He was said to have been forced to pull out the knife himself and needed stitches.
Johnston received a suspended prison sentence for the crime, with community requirements, after admitting a wounding charge.
But she was brought back to the crown court having “persistently failed” to comply with the probation service and other agencies.
Hearing that probation service staff were at the “end of the road” with Johnston, now of no fixed address, Judge James Adkin imposed an immediate 12-month custodial sentence.
