Firefighters tackle Thornthwaite forest fire

fireenginefront[F]irefighters have been tackling a forest fire off the U2213 at Thornthwaite since 11:14am today.

A spokesman for Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service said: “Crews have sectorised the incident and are using main pumps, wildfire jets, backpacks and wildfire tools.

“They have created a fire break and are damping down one of the sectors.”
