[A]t 5:44pm yesterday, Thursday 4 May firefighters were called to a report of an embankment fire off Oxford Close in Penrith.
A spokesman for Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service said: “Grass along the back of a row of terraced hoses was on fire, which had spread onto a strip of grass onto the boundary fence of the railway track.
“Passing trains were also fanning the fire.
“Around 200 square metres of grass were involved.
“The trains were stopped while firefighters used two hose reel jets to bring the fire under control.”
