[A] MAN accused of wounding another man in Carlisle has appeared at the city’s crown court.
Alfred John Brown, 36, faces one charge which alleges that he unlawfully and maliciously wounded Craig Metcalfe with intent to do him grievous bodily harm.
This relates to an incident which is alleged to have occurred behind shops on Petteril Bank Road, Harraby, on March 15 this year.
During a short hearing before Judge Barbara Forrester, Brown pleaded not guilty to the wounding charge over a video link from custody.
Judge Forrester adjourned the case until the week of July 3, when Brown, of Mardale Road, Raffles, Carlisle, is due to go on trial before a jury.
In the meantime he was remanded in custody by the judge.
