[C]rowds were out at lunchtime today as iconic steam locomotive the Flying Scotsman briefly paused in Carlisle railway station whilst hauling an Edinburgh to Crewe via Appleby, the famous excursion which forms day 4 of the Cathedral Express tour.
Steam fans and passengers waiting for delayed passenger trains were reaching for their cameras, phones and other gadgets as the train arrived on platform 3 and after a brief pause of a few minutes the signal turned green and Scotsman was away.
