[C]umbrian nutritional therapist and yoga teacher, Sarah Kekus, of The Health Architect has announced she will be delivering a series of ‘yoga for sport’ classes at this year’s Keswick Mountain Festival.
As part of the Festival Village line up, Sarah’s class will be free to those competing and are keen to improve their sports performance with the help of yoga. Sarah’s emphasis will be on improving strength and flexibility whilst also considering the management of common sports problems and injuries. The sessions will be suitable for all levels including athletes who have never practiced yoga before.
Sarah says, “With a background in climbing instruction and drawing on my own experiences as an alpine mountaineer and climber, the sports performance benefits of yoga resonate deeply with me. This led to me developing specific classes and workshops to support a range of athletes and I am delighted to be bringing this knowledge to this year’s Keswick Mountain Festival.”
Cyclists, swimmers, runners and triathletes will be able to take part in Sarah’s 45-minute yoga for sport class in the Adventure Tipi from 9.15am until 10.00am on each day of the festival – Friday 9th June, Saturday 10th June and Sunday 11th June.
Providing the ultimate outdoor weekend, Keswick Mountain Festival is home to a number of world class sporting events aimed to inspire all ages and abilities, offering a varied choice of fun and challenging outdoor activities, festival camping, speakers and live music.
The 2017 Festival will be the 11th year the event has been running. Growing and developing each year, Keswick Mountain Festival is now one of the largest UK Mountain Festivals attracting around 20,000 visitors from across the UK and overseas to Keswick in the Lake District.
