Woman killed in Carnforth bus crash

police RTC5b[A] woman has died in a road traffic collision on the A6 in Carnforth.

Police were called around 11.40am today (Tuesday, May 16).

A spokesman for Lancashire Police said: “A bus and a car had been involved in a collision on the A6, Scotland Road.

“Emergency services attended and the car driver, a woman, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

“Several bus passengers suffered minor injuries and have been treated by paramedics.”

The A6 was closed in both directions between the A601 J35A (Pine Lakes Roundabout) and the B6254 Market Street but has now reopened.
