[C]umbria County Council is hosting a Garden Party Swap Shop at Keswick Library between 10am and 12pm on Saturday 20 May.
People can donate their surplus seeds, plants, tools and garden equipment, and pick up some second hand items for free! There will also be a free children’s activity on recycling. Café West will be serving refreshments, including homemade cakes, and there will be a wide collection of gardening books to browse and borrow.
Get your garden ready for the summer. Bring any item(s) you no longer need or have too much of and pick up a freebie to take home!
We will be accepting donations of garden items in useable condition at Keswick Library on the day. All the items donated will be available for other people to browse and take away for free. Any items left at the end of the day will be donated to local growers, used at future swap events or given to charity.
Recycle for Cumbria will also be on hand with lots of information and tips for home composting. Have a look at some of the different compost bins available and get your compost questions answered. There will also be lots of ideas for transforming your garden with recycled materials and a competition to win £50 of garden vouchers!
