Engagement ring similar to Kate Middleton’s stolen in Carleton burglary

[P]olice are investigating a burglary at a house situated on the track leading to Newlands Farm, close to junction 41 of the M6.

The incident occurred between Saturday, 6th May 2017 and Saturday, 13th May 2017. Unknown offenders have entered the property and thoroughly searched the house: emptying drawers, cupboards, wardrobes and boxes.

A number of items have been taken, in particular a large sapphire engagement ring surrounded by 12 diamonds, described as being similar to Kate Middleton’s engagement ring. Of more unusual note, a number of vintage metal Girl Guide badges have also been taken.

Police are appealing for any members of the public that may have witnessed anything usual in the area during that week, or have seen or come into contact with either of the items mentioned.
