[A] new and improved refuse and recycling service will start in Carlisle next week.
From week commencing 12 June, Carlisle City Council is extending their kerbside recycling service to more properties and is asking everyone to sort their recycling slightly differently. Some residents may also be asked to put their bins, bags and boxes out on a different day.
Residents are being asked to check their new collection calendar (delivered to all households in mid-May) to confirm the day of the week to put their refuse, garden waste and recycling out for collection.
From week commencing 12 June onwards, residents are also being asked to put their paper into a green bag with your cardboard. They can now also place empty food and drink cartons e.g. tetrapak into the same bag. They have also been asked to put plastic into a separate green bag – do not mix with paper, cardboard and carton, plus use their green box for your tins, cans and glass only.
