[T]he barriers across entry point into river at the Sands where horses are washed will be removed by 4pm today (Wed 7 June 2017) as river levels go below 0.5m and the RSPCA will clear what debris they can.
People entering the river do so at their own risk and there may be some debris that is not found at time of the RSPCA doing the removal over the next two hours, so care needs to be taken by anyone as always if they choose to enter the river.
While the barriers are in place people should not go beyond them.
The MASCG will continue to monitor rainfall over the next 24 hours and will provide an update as appropriate should forecast river levels increase again above the 0.5m height as recorded.
