[C]umbrians are being invited to try their hand at something new next week (19-23 June) as the county council celebrates the Festival of Learning with a series of taster sessions.
A range of sessions are on offer in venues across the county – from digital photography, machine sewing or an introduction to pottery to languages, IT skills, and mindfulness – and they are all free. There will also be an opportunity to find out about developing your maths and English skills.
Previously known as Adult Learners’ Week, the Festival of Learning is the biggest celebration of lifelong learning in England with events taking place all over the country.
The festival aims to highlight the benefits of learning, celebrate the achievements of adults who have used learning to transform their lives, and to encourage everyone to embrace lifelong learning.
The full range of free sessions on offer can be found at: www.cumbria.gov.uk
