Road closed and properties evacuated as chemicals removed from address in Ulverston

police tape[E]mergency services are continuing with work to remove chemicals found at property in Ulverston.

Yesterday (15th June) police arrested a 29-year-old man from Ulverston on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs. Following enquiries, chemicals were found in a property on Weston Avenue, Ulverston.

Police are working with specialist fire service resources in order to safely remove the chemicals from the property. Part of Weston Avenue is closed in order to do this and two neighbouring properties have been evacuated as a precaution.

The male remains in custody for questioning.

Police would like to reassure members of the public that there is no believed risk to them at this time.
