Can you share your art and craft skills with carers?

[E]den Carers, the Penrith based charity that supports the estimated 6,000 unpaid carers in Eden, is looking for a pool of volunteers with arts and craft skills to assist at its monthly Arts & Craft Hub.

If you are skilled in floristry, needlework, cake decorating, yarn crafts, clay modelling or drawing and painting, Eden Carers would love to hear from you. The Arts & Craft Hub runs on the second Thursday of every month between 10:00 – 12:00, at the company’s offices, and the charity is hoping to promote a rolling programme of activities for Carers from September onwards.

The Arts & Craft Hub provides Carers with the opportunity to spend a little time away from their often demanding and emotionally draining caring role. Being able to chat with other Carers, while engaging in a craft activity, can prove very therapeutic and is much valued by those who attend.

If you can spare just 2 – 3 hours, every few months or so, to help a Carer and would like to offer your skills free of charge, please get in touch with Susan Coffer, Volunteer Coordinator, at Eden Carers on 01768 890280 or email [email protected] for more information.
