[P]olice are investigating an incident which occurred outside of Longtown Primary School on the 6th of July at approximately 8.30pm.
Three members of the public, in their twenties, have been subjected to verbal abuse by a group of eight males in their late teens to early twenties. The abuse has been motivated by hatred towards the victim’s gender and sexual orientation.
Hate crime of any type will not be tolerated in Cumbria and police are making enquiries into tracing those responsible.
Police are appealing for any witnesses who may have been in the area at the time.
