[E]mergency services are dealing with a one-vehicle road traffic collision on the A590 at Greenodd.
Police were called at 1:11pm.
A spokesman for Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service said: At 1:10pm firefighters were called to a report of a road traffic collision on the A590 at Greenodd.
“One vehicle was involved and there was one casualty, the driver, trapped in the car.
“Cutting equipment was used to remove the side door to enable the casualty to be released and handed into the care of the ambulance service.
“Crews were at the scene for one hour.”
The A592 was closed in both directions near the A5092.
The westbound carriageway has now reopened, one lane on the eastbound carriageway has also reopened.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area and find an alternative route.
