[A] CRACK cocaine courier caught travelling through Cumbria with an illegal £12,500 load was told he faces a jail sentence.
Said Mohamed, 30, pleaded guilty to two offences when he appeared at Carlisle Crown Court today (MON) over a video link from custody.
Mohamed admitted possessing class A crack cocaine, with intent to supply it to another, and possessing of criminal property – namely cash.
The crimes came to light when a Mercedes SLK was stopped as it travelled south on the M6 near Kendal on June 14. It is said to have been tracked for around 30 miles from the Penrith area, with £12,500 worth of crack cocaine and almost £7,000 found in the boot.
Mohamed, of Oakley Avenue, Ealing, London, had his case adjourned until August 7, when background information – including a pre-sentence report – will be considered before the punishment is announced.
But Judge Peter Hughes QC warned him: “It is inevitable, though, that the sentence will be custody.”
