Man hurt in Bassenthwaite attack

[P]olice are appealing for witnesses following an unprovoked assault at the side of a road in Bassenthwaite.

The incident occurred on the A591 near to the Scarness junction on Saturday 15th July 2017 at around 10.30pm. A 27-year-old man was walking along the side of the road when a vehicle pulled up and a man from the vehicle has approached the victim and punched him.

The assault left the man with facial injuries.

The offender is believed to be aged between 25 and 30 and was wearing jeans and light-coloured top.

Police are looking for anyone who may have witness this incident or anyone who may have seen a white BMW in the area at this time.
