Two arrested after woman seriously injured in Whitehaven attack

[P]olice are investigating a GBH assault which took place on 2nd July 2017 in Whitehaven.

The victim, a 30-year-old woman, sustained serious injuries.

Two arrests were made in relation to the assault (36 and 25 year old women from Whitehaven) and the suspects were released under investigation.

As part of ongoing enquiries police are appealing for a potential witness and looking to identify a taxi driver who picked up a lone female passenger between 00.00 – 2.00am on 2nd July from Whitehaven Town Centre, and took the fair to Derwentwater Road, Whitehaven.
