[C]umbria Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed a road traffic collision on the A66 today (28 July, 2017).
A blue Nissan Micra was travelling east between Warcop and Brough when it left the carriageway, overturned on the verge and landed on its roof in the carriageway.
Fire, ambulance and air ambulance staff, as well as police officers, attended the scene. It was some time before the driver – a woman from Scotland – was released from the vehicle.
The driver suffered serious injuries and was flown to James Cook Hospital in Teeside.
Cumbria Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or the moments leading up to it.
