Elderly man hurt in Egremont gang attack

[P]olice are investigating criminal damage to a property and an assault in Egremont.

The incidents occurred on Monday, 31st July 2017, at around 3pm, on Chapel Street, Egremont.

Four youths are believed to have caused damage to a front door, when the youths were approached by the home owner to ask what they were doing, he was physically assaulted with a punch to the face.

The victim, an elderly male, fell to the ground as a result of the punch, sustaining cuts to his hand.

The offender is described as around 15-year’s-old, slim build, around 5’8 tall, wearing a dark tracksuit top and blue jeans.

Anybody with information that will assist in identifying those responsible is asked to call police on 101, quoting log 132 of 31st July, email [email protected], or call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
