[A] man charged with numerous offences following a collision between a car and a cyclist in Ulverston last week has appeared in court.
John Burns, 30, of Sycamore Road, Manchester, was charged with:
- Dangerous driving
- Causing serious injury by dangerous driving
- Robbery
- S39 common assault
- Vehicle interference
- Aggravated TWOC
- Fraud
He appeared at South Cumbria Magistrates’ Court in Barrow today. He has been remanded to reappear at court on 1 September 2017.
The cyclist involved in the collision remains in hospital, having suffered life-threatening injuries in the collision. He remains in a critical condition.
The IPCC were informed following this incident as there were a number of officers in the area at the time.
The Commission has informed the Constabulary that the incident can be investigated locally by the force’s own Professional Standards department.
