Man seriously injured in Carlisle attack

[P]olice are appealing for information following a serious assault in Carlisle.

A man in his fifties was found with serious injuries on the street outside of Gallagher’s on Botchergate.

It is believed the assault occurred at approximately 1am this morning (4th August) in the nearby area.

The man has been transferred to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle.

Police would like to speak to witnesses who may have been in the area at this time.
