[A] MAN who flouted a suspended jail term he was given for “despicable” drugs supply crimes has been given one final chance.
Shaun Paul Tierney, 26, was originally sentenced in January at Carlisle Crown Court. His crime had been to source illegal drugs for others to take at last year’s Kendal Calling music festival. He had communicated with more than a dozen people through a private WhatsApp group before being caught out by police.
Tierney admitted charges of offering to supply class A cocaine, class B amphetamine and class C diazepam – twice – along with possessing cocaine with intent to supply.
He was spared prison for those crimes – receiving a suspended two-year term – but then repeatedly breached a curfew he was given as part of his punishment.
At the crown court today (FRI) he appeared again in front of Judge Peter Davies, who had branded his drugs crimes “despicable” in January.
Judge Davies was told the recent breaches were a “wobble”, and that Tierney, of Fletcher Crescent, Maryport, was training to become an electrician.
Judge Davies imposed an extra three-month curfew, but stated: “There will be no further chances.”
