Firefighters tackle Longtown warehouse fire

[A]t 6:07pm yesterday, Sunday 6 August firefighters were called to a report of a fire in a warehouse on Briar Lea Court in Longtown.

Mattresses were on fire in the warehouse which measured approximately 150 metres x 60 metres.

A spokesman for Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service said: “Firefighters, two wearing breathing apparatus, used a high pressure hose reel jet to bring the fire under control.

“A thermal imaging camera was then used to make sure there were no hotspots and a high pressure fan cleared smoke.”
