[T]he family of a man who died following a collision in Bolton has paid tribute to him.
Shortly before 5:15am yesterday, Monday 7 August 2017, police were called to reports of a serious collision involving a BMW 530 and Chevrolet Matiz on Tonge Moor Road.
A man who was travelling in the Chevrolet was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries and sadly died.
He has since been formally identified as 42-year-old Ian Wilcox from Bolton.
Paying tribute to him, Ian’s wife Cathryn said: “Our world fell apart yesterday when Ian Wilcox, amazing husband, father to two young daughters, loving son, son and brother in law, uncle, nephew and firm friend to many was tragically killed in a collision on a busy Bolton road.
“Ian, who loved football, live music, beer and the group Queen, leaves a void that can never be filled.”
Police are continuing to urge witnesses to the incident to come forward, particularly anyone with dash cam footage.
