Firefighters tackle Penrith lorry blaze

[F]irefighters are tackling a fire involving an HGV cab at on Kemplay Bank at Eamont Bridge, Penrith.

Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service were called at 11:54am.

Two fire engines from Penrith are at the scene using foam to tackle the blaze.

A spokesman for Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service said: “The cab of a heavy goods vehicle was well alight.

“Firefighters, two in breathing apparatus, used foam to put out the fire.”

The A6 is currently closed at Eamont Bridge / Kemplay Bank roundabout.
