Woman dies in Annan house fire

A woman has died following a serious house fire in Annan overnight.

Emergency Services were alerted to the fire around 2:21am on Friday 11 August 2017. Police, Fire and Ambulance Service all attended the scene and upon arrival found a well-developed fire within the semi-detached house.

A 46-year-old woman was removed from the premises by Firefighters however died at the scene.

A total of three fire appliances were mobilised to the scene in Addison Place and firefighters in protective breathing apparatus used high powered hoses to tackle the flames.

A joint Police and Fire Service investigation into the cause of the fire will be carried out in due course.
