[A] CARLISLE man has admitted a Christmas Eve careless driving crime – and also giving false information about who was behind the wheel.
Three charges were put to 25-year-old Glenn Amado Shields when he appeared at the city’s crown court.
Shields pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention in a Volvo V50 on Montgomery Way, Carlisle; and failing to stop after an accident in which damage was caused to a Ford Focus.
Both offences were committed on December 24 last year.
He also admitted a charge of perverting the course of public justice. This states that on January 1 this year he “knowingly put the the wrong details” about who was driving the Volvo on an official form.
Shields, of Cant Crescent, Carlisle, will be sentenced at the crown court on September 7. In the meantime he was granted conditional bail by Judge Barbara Forrester.
