[A] man has been arrested after concerns were raised for the welfare of two children.
A couple with two children were reported to be “intoxicated and arguing” following a “drinking session” at a local hotel.
Police were called at 1:25am today, Wednesday 16th August to a report of a man and a woman and two children on a boat on Ullswater, with concerns for welfare.
Patterdale MRT and Maryport Coastguard were called to assist Cumbria Police to search for the vessel.
A spokesman for Cumbria Police said: “The boat was located moored safely, and the children were safe and well.
The man, aged 22, was arrested on suspicion of taking without consent, following an incident on 14th August where a car was taken without permission of the owner in Carlisle, and is currently in police custody.
The incident involved a crew of five Patterdale MRT members and lasted two hours in total.
