“Farming Landscapes” Walk Matson Ground Farm near Windermere

[F]arm Manager, Pete Webster, will be welcoming visitors to Matson Ground Farm near Windermere, LA23 2NH for a Farming Landscapes event on Sunday 20th August from 11am – 2pm.

Matson Ground is an organic livestock farm of 420ha located to the north of Bowness on Windermere in the Lake District National Park. The farm has a sheep flock of 550 Swaledale ewes and 250 mule ewes, and has 50 suckler cows, producing organic lamb and beef. All the land is entered into a Higher Level Environmental Stewardship Agreement and the farm produces organic lamb and beef.

The event will include a farm walk and refreshments will be provided. Waterproofs, walking boots or wellingtons are advised and please look out for the Farmer Network event signs to follow to the farm. The event has been made possible by funding from the Cumbria Community Foundation.
