[W]e are proud of Wendy Mackenzie, a care practitioner at Gaudium Ltd, who is raising money for Hospice at Home.
On 2nd September 2017 Wendy will be heading to the sky for a thrilling skydive fundraising challenge. Wendy will be jumping out at a whopping 11,000 ft to experience a 120 mph rush down to earth, and hopes to raise £500 for the charity. Wendy has said that this is “My biggest challenge yet, I am jumping out of a plane for a very worthy charity.”
Wendy is not new to fundraising and has undertaken a number of challenges, including a 5 day walk in the Jordon mountains for the Britain v Cancer Trek Jordan 2013, and various moonlight walks and other charity challenges.
Mariusz Waluk, Managing Director at Gaudium, is very supportive of Wendy and other staff who undertake fundraising challenges for great causes.
Gaudium is a local company which provides Domiciliary care, Day Care at Home, and also has a Day Centre for adults here in Penrith. Mariusz made his contribution of £50 to Wendy for her fundraising, and other Gaudium staff have made their contributions too. Mariusz has said “I am so happy to show Gaudium’s support for Hospice at Home. They are an amazing charity who do so much fantastic work in the community. I have had the pleasure of meeting some of their staff and have seen firsthand what a massive difference they make to people’s lives.”
Wendy still has £280 to raise towards the £500 fund, and hopes she can get the word out for more people to help the Hospice at Home charity by supporting her brave (some would say crazy!) charity skydive challenge. If you could donate to this worthy cause and encourage Wendy to jump out of that plane at 11,000 feet, you can donate at https://mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/wendymackenzie1.
We will keep you posted of Wendy’s skydiving adventure, and wish her lots of luck in her fundraising!
