[P]aying for off-street parking by debit or credit card is being trialled by Eden District Council for four weeks, with the installation of a new ticket machine that takes both cards and cash payments at the Bluebell Lane car park in Penrith.
The new machine is being installed in central position in the car park on Friday 25 August.
An Eden District Council spokesperson, said: “This is an opportunity for the public and visitors to pay for their off-street parking by credit or debit card rather than using cash. This trial period will hopefully show if this service proves to be popular and easy to use. We will monitor any feedback we receive to access whether it merits expanding a card payment service to other ticket machines in the future. Machines that just takes cash payments are still available in Bluebell Lane car park.”
