[A] magical family musical, fresh from the Edinburgh Fringe Festival will land at the Rheged Centre next Wednesday for two performances.
A Hit the Mark production, AnimAlphabet is a fun, fast paced comical journey with colourful characters, great puppets and unforgettably catchy songs – written by the Al and Sam of The Hoosiers.
Treble Clef Island is a wonderful land of music, song and dance, but there’s a problem. Calando the dastardly duck has escaped and is threatening to steal sound forever. Join Colin the Cockatoo on a quest to find the island animals and thwart Calando’s plans. A Waltzing Elephant, a Reggae Frog, a Geordie Jazz Giraffe and a Hip-Hop Donkey, are just some of the musical-misfits Cockatoo will meet along the way. – AnimAlphabet is a magical family musical unlike any other and features Kerry Ingram (Olivier Award Winning Matilda, Game of Thrones, Netflix Free Rein) as the voice of Metro the Gnome.
Claire Logan Stevens from the Rheged Centre said “As the school holidays draw to a close, this colourful musical full of animal is the perfect way to top off the break. AnimAlphabet’s characters include Colin the Country Cockatoo, a Jazz Giraffe, a Hip-Hop Donkey, a swing Alligator and a Reggae Frog. The musical also enables us to consider the environments that the characters inhabit, from the South American Alligator and African elephant, to the Caribbean Frog and the Australasian Cockatoo.”
Children will learn musical lessons in a fun and innovative way including live theatre, interactive games, cartoons and video lessons; we strive to include new-technology within our practice. Highly recommended!”
