[P]olice are investigating a burglary from a property in Penrith where a significant amount of cash and jewellery were stolen.
The burglary occurred at a property on Beacon Edge between 2.30pm and 7pm on 30th August.
An unknown but significant amount of cash and jewellery were stolen. Offenders have entered the property through an insecure ground-floor window and have searched throughout the property.
On two occasions in the days leading up to the incident two men have separately visited the property and have suspiciously asked the victim a number of questions.
Detective Constable Joanne French, North Cumbria CID, said: “We would like to speak to anyone who has any information regarding this burglary which has left the victim devastated.
“Residents are advised to be vigilant of any suspicious activity similar to what has happened in the build up to this incident. If you have any concerns please contact the police.
“We would also like to remind people to lock windows and doors when leaving a property to protect your home and your possessions.”
