[R]ETRO lovers are dusting off their dancing shoes – from blue suede to platform – as Workington prepares to take a step back in time for the town’s first festival of its kind – Vintage in the Town.
Brought to you by Paint the Town Red team and Washington Square, the free event will be a nostalgia-themed extravaganza boasting chart toppers from the Swinging Sixties plus the largest gathering of vintage traders in the history of West Cumbria.
Throughout the day there will be a rare opportunity to visit the Port – an area usually off limits to the public – thanks to a free shuttle service of classic buses from the Workington Transport Heritage Trust.
Food traders and street entertainment, along with an eclectic mix of music bring a day for all ages.
So boogie on down.
Vintage in the Town takes place in Workington Town Centre this Saturday 9th September, visit www.vintageworkington.co.uk for more info.
