[E]mergency services are dealing with a two-vehicle road traffic collision on Parkside Road in Kendal.
Police were called at 3:01pm today, Monday 4th September.
The incident involved a Volvo and Vauxhall Astra.
A spokesman for Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service said: “At 15:12 firefighters were called to a road traffic collision on Parkside Road, Kendal.
“Two fire engines from Kendal attended the incident and on arrival they found a crash between two vehicles with two people trapped.
“Crews used cutting equipment to remove the roof of a vehicle.
“One casualty was taken to hospital via air ambulance and another via land ambulance.
“Crews were at the scene for approximately one hour and 10 minutes. ”
The road is closed between the Castlegreen Junction and the railway bridge towards the town centre, whilst emergency service attend.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area and find an alternative route.
