Resident hurt in Carlisle house fire

[A]t 7:50pm yesterday, Thursday 7 September firefighters were called to a house fire on Baird Road, Carlisle.

Three fire engines, one from Carlisle East, one from Carlisle West and one from Longtown, attended the incident.

A spokesman for Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service said: “Crews, two wearing breathing apparatus, used one hose reel jet to put out the fire.

“One casualty was treated by ambulance personnel for smoke inhalation.

“Crews were at the scene for an hour.”
