Police appeal for vehicle in connection with Carlisle “machete attack”

[P]olice in Carlisle are appealing for information on the whereabouts of a vehicle connected to a serious assault that occurred yesterday.

The vehicle in question is a red Renault Clio with the vehicle registration number: ND51 JYU.

Police would like to know the whereabouts of the vehicle or hear from those who have seen it.

The car is believed to be connected to an assault that occurred on Norfolk Street yesterday afternoon. A 19-year-old man from Carlisle suffered serious injuries to his hand following the assault involving a bladed weapon, believed to be a machete.

A 25-year-old man and a 22-year-old man, both from Carlisle, were arrested on suspicion of assault GBH with intent. They both remain detained for questioning.
