Carlisle man stabbed during house burglary

[P]olice in Carlisle are investigating a burglary and a subsequent assault that occurred on Henderson Road, Carlisle.

The incident occurred at approximately 7.15pm yesterday (14th September), where a man has forced entry to a house and has stolen £300 in cash.

He has then assaulted an occupant with an unknown weapon outside the property.

The victim of the assault, a man aged in his early twenties, suffered a serious puncture injury to his leg.

The suspect is described as being in his early twenties.

Enquiries are ongoing to trace the person responsible.
