Walker hurt in Lake District fall

[A] woman has been taken to hospital after falling at Easedale Tarn.

The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to assist Langdale and Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team at 3:30pm yesterday, Thursday 14 September after a woman, aged in her 60s fell while walking and sustained a lower back injury.

A spokesman for GNAAS said: “Our GNAAS paramedic and doctor team administered pain relief to the patient before airlifting her to a waiting land ambulance in Grasmere.

“She was taken by road to Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle by the North West Ambulance Service.”
