[C]umberland Building Society’s bank account customers are still the happiest in the UK according to research revealed this week by Fairer Finance.
For the third time in a row, The Cumberland, the region’s largest financial institution, topped the table, achieving an 86% happiness rating. This put them 4% ahead of First Direct in second place, and 12% ahead of Nationwide in third. The research was undertaken by Fairer Finance, a consumer group that focuses on the banking industry. Their independent survey of over 23,000 bank and building society customers across the UK aims to understand what people think of their financial provider.
Phillip Ward, Brand Manager at The Cumberland, said, “We’re really pleased to see our customers have rated us so highly again and we’re very appreciative of their continued support. However, it’s clear from the table that there are a lot of unhappy bank customers out there. Don’t put up with it, switch to somewhere you can be happy!”
